How BE Journaling Started
Early in our marriage we struggled to understand and share our emotional experiences with each other. We loved each other, and were generally happy, but it felt like there was something missing.
Kyle bought a simple pink journal, wrote a note in it, and left it under Neesha’s pillow. Little did we know, that would transform our marriage and be the start of something bigger than either of us could have imagined.
Later, when we became parents, Kyle traveled a lot. Before he would leave each week, he wrote a message in journals for our children and left them under their pillows.
As our family grew together and we gained experience and education, we added even more tools to our journaling rituals. When we we tell others about our journaling ritual, they loved it and asked if we would make one for them.
So, we did! Originally called Challenge Journals, they have evolved as Kyle’s academic research has advanced, and are now what you know as BE Journaling™️…tools for Belonging and Empowerment.
The only place for A.L.I.V.E. Bids™️, BE Narrating™️, and BE Rooting™️. Join us in nurturing Belonging and Empowerment in your most meaningful relationships.

Our Framework for Relationships of BELONGING & EMPOWERMENT
SHARED EXPERIENCES
Relationships are built through shared experiences. Yet, it’s easy to get into mundane routines, slowly experiencing less and less of life together. Creating positive shared experiences, no matter how simple, is the foundation of belonging and empowerment. That’s why we created A.L.I.V.E. Bids™️ as one of the pillars of BE Journaling.
EMOTIONAL CONNECTIONS
Every relationship tool and course we’ve ever come across makes communication the priority. Yet, strong communication skills can never overcome weak emotional intelligence. Relationships of Belonging & Empowerment are forged and nurtured through deep emotional connections, the kind of bonds created through BE Narrating™️.
DYNAMIC ROOTS
Everyone needs secure places from which to explore life, in other words, strong roots. These strong roots take the form of resources and rituals, like journaling together, ALIVE Bids, and reliable problem solving tools. BE Rooting™️ provides the tools and skills to establish strong roots that provide a base from which bold authenticity and brave exploration can grow.
BE Journaling™ SUCCESS STORIES
FOUNDATIONS IN HEAD & HEART
Lived Experience
Above all, we’re a couple, a partnership, parents, a family, and a team.
We’ve been married for 16 years and have three children who are equally vital members of our family team. (even when it feels like they’re playing for a different team 🙂) We have been a team in apartments too small for us while attending university, moved across country for employment, lived over FaceTime while Kyle traveled every week, served individuals with mental and physical disabilities, built, failed, and succeeded in business, and discovered a deep sense of belonging and empowerment together through it all.
Our promise to you is that we will only share products and services with the greatest potential to help you experience Belonging and Empowerment in your own life and relationships.
Formal Expertise
Our products and services are research- and evidence-based. We both hold Clinical Foundations in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and 2 credentials, and have received CARE Training from the Trevor Project for work with LGBTQ youth.
Kyle is a doctoral candidate in Educational Psychology with a focus on Development & Learning and holds a graduate neuroscience certificate in the Mind, Brain, and Education. He runs a research lab interested close relationships and their underlying mechanisms, attachment theory, and interaction styles. His dissertation is investigating factors that determine how individuals seek out and acquire developmental assets, building on research into Positive Youth Development, Developmental Assets, and Relational Developmental Systems. Additional areas of Kyle’s current research include relation- and domain-specific attachments, artificial intelligence, loneliness, large scale neural systems, belonging, and empowerment.
Neesha has training in positive parenting and the Gottman Method. She has more than a decade of experience serving individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Currently, she is a nursing student and works in a hospital. Having experienced a full spectrum of growth, marriage, and parenthood in her personal life and work with patients across the lifespan, she brings immense practical knowledge and insight to BE Journaling.
